How to test scripts that get passed parameters

Postby srbond on Thu Oct 01, 2015 3:38 pm

Hi - first of all thanks for the help with my other posts on the forum - you've been very helpful.

I am writing a WinTask script that is being called via command line / shell from

How do I test the WinTask script alone in the WinTask editor and trick it out to pass command line arguments (parameter) on run so I know that part of the script is working?

(I can do this with code by in Visual Studio by right-clicking the project, choosing properties, going to the Debugging section where there is a box for command line arguments.)

It's not possible to pass parameters on the fly when the script is played through the Editor window. It's possible to pass parameters through the command line if you want to launch script execution in another program:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\WinTask\Bin\TASKEXEC.EXE" "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinTask\Scripts\<my_script>.ROB" ["<param1>" "<param2>"]

Look too at Run function with Command$, that's another way to run unit scripts.

Best regards.
