enhance editor's multiple line selection

I have line numbers enabled in the editor. If I select line X with a <Left Mouse> click in the line number area, say on line number 6, the editor highlights the entire line (as I would expect). But then if I <Shift>-<Left Mouse> line Y, say line #12, only line number 12 is highlighted/selected, when I expect lines 6 through 12 to be highlighted/selected.

Please enhance the WinTask editor to do multiple line select by clicking in the line number margin.

To select lines 6 to 12, you have to Shift-click anywhere in line 12 and it will select all the lines.

Yes, that works IF I remember. But on other text editors I use (my primary is TextPad) I can do both mouse clicks in the line number column. By the time I remember I have to click in one place to start the select and another to place to end, I often end up with only the last line selected. If all are visible on the screen, no big deal, but when I am selecting 10s of or 100s of lines it is a hassle to change my ways to accommodate this WinTask unique nuance.
