Security window not found

Postby Tahir on Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:20 am

I attempt to open our intranet site with a WinTask script. But, when the default page is opened, it forces a login, immediately, for authentication. This is a standard Microsoft browser login prompt. In this case, this is where the problem occurs as I am unsure how to get the Wintask script to recognize the pop-up login dialog box provided by the browser:

Step 1: Open browser with our site:
Step 2: Immediately, as the login dialog comes up, catch the login prompt and automatically enter the user ID & password

It appears that either on step 1 or between step 1 and step 2, it is timing out because it cannot recognize the login prompt within the browser.

Thanks for your help.

StartBrowser function includes an automatic synchronization and waits until the page is fully loaded. If a security window opens above the initial page, it prevents this page to load and so StartBrowser fails. You need to use instead Shell command which does not synchronize, the syntax would be:
Shell(Chr$(34)+"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"+Chr$(34)+"",1)

Best regards.
