UI Automation Functions

Microsoft UI Automation is an accessibility framework that enables Microsoft Windows applications to provide programmatic information about user interface (UI). It provides programmatic access to most UI elements on the desktop.

For every UI element displayed within a top window, WinTask x64 identifies each of them using its UIA Descriptor. The UIA descriptor of an UI element can be found using WinTask x64 Spy tool. If no UIA descriptor can be found, it means that the application under automation has not implemented the UI Automation framework and you need to use other techniques for a proper automation (such as ClickOnText, ClickOnTextOCR, mouse clicks and Low level Recording mode, ...).

This section describes the UI Automation functions available in WinTask x64, functions interacting with an UI element specified by its UIA descriptor.
