Which Windows versions are supported?

WinTask Lite and WinTask supports Windows 7 and Windows 8.

WinTask supports Windows 2003 32 bits.

WinTask x64 supports Windows 7 32 bits or 64 bits, Windows 8 and Windows 2008 R2 64 bits.

 

Is it possible to automate 64-bit applications with WinTask?

WinTask x64 only can automatize pure 64-bit applications and a 64-bit desktop. WinTask x64 cannot automatize IE 64-bit.

WinTask Lite and WinTask can automatize 32-bit applications under a Windows 64-bit but they cannot automatize the 64-bit desktop operations.

 

Which web browsers can I use with WinTask?

WinTask supports Internet Explorer 8, 9, 10 and 11.

WinTask supports Mozilla Firefox.

WinTask supports Google Chrome.

 

Can WinTask automatize AJAX controls?

Yes but you will need to add a manual synchronization to wait for the answer of the AJAX server before processing the next action.

 

Can WinTask automatize applications over terminal services environments (Citrix/Terminal Services)?

You can use WinTask via terminal services if the applications under automation and WinTask are installed on the remote server. If WinTask is installed on the client side, as the terminal window only transmits the image of the remote server, the individual objects are not seen anymore and the automation can be made only using keyboard shortcuts, OCR/bitmap synchronization and mouse clicks (note that OCR is not available in WinTask Lite).
