String Management Functions

This section describes the String Management Functions available in WinTask. You can use them to manipulate any string or extract part of a string to a variable.

Remenber that the plus sign (+) is the string concatenation operator that enables string concatenation.
For example:
firstname$="James"
lastname$="Smith"
name$=firstname$+" "+lastname$    ' name$ contains James Smith

To concatenate an integer (for example a loop index) and a text, the integer must be first converted into a string using Str$ function.
For example:
i=3
msgbox("The loop index is now: "+str$(i))    'displays  The loop index is now 3

An empty string is "":
a$=""    'empty string
