Getting started
Take a quick tour by selecting in WinTask menu Help/Getting started.
Or create your first script using WinTask Recording mode:
Launch the WinTask Editor by Start/Programs/WinTask and select WinTask. If "Your First Script Wizard" screen comes up, click Cancel button.
When the WinTask Editor window comes up, click the Record button
on the WinTask Toolbar to start Recording mode.
A dialog box will appear asking "What do you want to start before recording?". Choose to launch An application or Internet Explorer (NEVER USE "START" Windows menu when you record actions).
If you check An application and click OK button, in the next dialog box "Launching a program", type the name of the application you want to run or Browse for it ; press OK button. The WinTask Editor window is minimized and all your actions will be now recorded to create the script. The small WinTask toolbar is displayed and a flashing icon in Windows system tray (lower-right corner of your desktop) reminds you that Recording mode is active.
If you check Internet Explorer and click OK button, in the next dialog box type the Web URL where you want to start recording your web actions. The WinTask Editor window is minimized and all your actions will be now recorded to create the script. The small WinTask toolbar is displayed and a flashing icon in Windows system tray (lower-right corner of your desktop) reminds you that Recording mode is active.
Perform all the actions you wish to record, such as keystrokes typing, mouse clicks, menu selections.
Stop Recording mode by clicking the first icon in the small WinTask toolbar or by clicking the flashing icon

Review the script which has been automatically generated.
Return your desktop to the same position it was when you started Recording mode: set everything back to where it was when you started to record (for example, close Internet Explorer if you have open it when you started Recording).
Click the Play icon
. You are prompted to save your script. The Compiler is launched and if no compilation errors are detected, your script starts running.
If you want to stop script execution immediately, press simultaneously Shift+Ctrl+Pause keys. The script stops execution as soon as the currently processed action is finished.
